Primary Language Lessons Part 1 is the 2nd grade portion of Emma Serl's language series.

I am so thrilled to be offering Primary Language Lessons in workbook format. Part 1 is the 2nd grade portion. It includes lessons on:

  • Narration
  • Dictation
  • Composition
  • Letter Writing
  • Simple Grammar Lessons
  • Picture Study
  • Conversation Lessons
  • Observation Lessons

All of these are presented in a gentle, Charlotte Mason style. The goal of Emma Serl’s book is to have the children learn to speak properly.

Changes I made to Primary Language Lessons:

  • I added a glossary
  • I added vocabulary to go with the new glossary
  • I added teacher helps for the grammar lessons (great if using with an older child)
  • I added a resource list
  • I added lines so the student can write directly in the book.
  • Dictation sheets are provided in the Appendix
  • Updated a few terms
  • Updated the Letter Writing Lessons

I purchased the Primary Language Lessons Workbooks for grade 2 and 3 recently. I really like the use of Charlotte Mason’s style of learning in the workbooks. However, I discovered that they don’t come with complete answers especially for the observation questions. I’m not from the US and I’m not very familiar with the American language lessons. Model answers or guides would be so very helpful. Please tell me how or where I can find such resource. Thank you.

    hello,
I purchased the 1st grade addition earlier this week. I downloaded it but I am new to windows 8 and cannot find where it has been saved. Any chance you can send me the link again?

    thanks

Just two questions: Do I need to purchase the PLL book – to go along with the workbook? I have a 2nd and 3rd grader – since these are only 80 lessons – is it suggested to do a lesson over two days time instead of using it for half a year?

No, you do not need to purchase the hb book unless you want to. Everything is in the workbook. Yes, a few lessons a week should be sufficient, but go with your children’s ability.

Hello there. I am wondering if you could help me out? I ordered Primary Language Lessons and Intermediate Language Lessons from you on 9/6/2011. They are downloaded onto my computer, but I am unable to print them out. I am getting an error message saying files are damaged and to download them from the originaly source. The files are there, I am just unable to open them. Circumstances changed for us last school year and I did not homeschool my two daughters. However, I am homeschooling them this year, and I would love to be able to use this wonderful resource! Please let me know if you are able to help. Thank you so much and blessings, Christine Robin

I am sending you fresh links. Remember, they expire in 48 hours. –Cynthia
